The Ordinary. is a beauty range that has shaken up the scene for the clinical skin care market.
But why has it exploded all over the internet? and what is the difference between this skin care range and the 1000 others that are supposed to make us look 10 years younger, with zero imperfections and basically……just flawless?
The Ordinary. is unbelievably affordable. Not “If I skip lunch today I can buy that moisturiser” affordable but actually dirt cheap. The ordinary belongs to a larger company, called DECIEM. They don’t advertise unlike other beauty ranges and use minimal packaging. They receive all their media attention by reviews from their satisfied consumers. Way to switch the roles up, right?
I tried a few products myself and after I got through the skin purging stage, this is what I found.
The Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Serum acts in adding extra hydration to the skin and repairing the skins surface. You apply morning/ night after cleansing, toning, and carry on with moisturiser over the top in the morning or extra serums at nighttime. It’s been great in adding extra hydration to my skin and is now apart of my daily skin routine.
The Latic Acid 10% + HA 2% formulation works a mini Acid Peel. It targets un even skin tone, un even texture and gently exfoliates the skin. I apply this every other evening as it can be quite drying. It has been amazing in lightening any scarring I had and has even minimised my break out.
The Vitamin C Suspension 23 % + HA Spheres works in brightening and reducing the sings of ageing within the skin. Every time I use this, my skin is visibly brighter and smoother next day. I use it once a week in the evenings after applying the two serums above.
The Ordinary. also does a Silicone Based Primer and 100% Cold Pressed Argon Oil. The primer is actually pretty good for what you pay for ($12) and the Cold pressed Argan oil is perfect for de hydrated hair. A little goes a long way with these two.
Over all The Ordinary. definitely meets the mark when it comes to affordable and an effective beauty range. It’s pretty obvious why these bad boys sell out so quickly and why their being grabbed off the shelves and filling up online beauty baskets so quickly.
