Valentine’s Day: Ditching Tradition

It’s that time of year again where couples express their love through gifts, flowers and dates on the day of love.

But why is it that we spend so much time and money on celebrating a day of love, when love should be appreciated everyday?

I honestly feel like its the ‘singles’ that are getting Valentines day right, spending it with food and  friends then couples emptying their wallet on one evening.

Now don’t get me wrong, going out for dinner to dine in beautiful restaurants is always special but if your looking for something to do thats low key yet still says ” I Love You” you should try this.

Inspired by Tapas Addict created by Ebony Tolcon, I tried to recreate my own tapas board that looked good  bar worthy yet still featured food that would be loved by my significant other.Due to my personal love for Middle Eastern food I used spiced pumpkin, falafel, roasted cumin chickpeas and hummus. But knowing my partner loves some  Anti- Pesto I also added some herbed mushrooms, olives, sour dough bread and cheese.

Getting it right is all a matter of perspective, company and patience (trust me it takes a while) so give yourself some time and just go with your taste buds.

But when it comes to dates, birthdays events getting a professionals expertise will guarantee you an amazing and delicious spread.  Hit up the Tapas Addict, Ebony Talcon to ensure your next tapas board is one to remember.
